The Saturday Morning Workout
Our group meets at Lake Merritt every Saturday at 8:00am. The usual workout is a tempo run of some sort, but there are always folks just out to do a casual run as well. Our meet-up spot is the Lake Merritt Amphitheater located at the south side of the lake. All are welcome, so let us know if you're interested in coming out!
If you're driving to meet us, there is a nearby parking lot on Lakeshore that generally has a few spots.
Note: Currently there are road closures on Lakeshore due to Covid.
Other Weekly Workouts
Note: because we are just getting back to our training schedule after a long hiatus due to Covid-19, our other weekly workouts aren't on the schedule. We'll be back soon!
Temescal Tuesday: this is a more casual, shorter run starting in Temescal at 6:15am on Tuesday mornings. The main course is a 5.5 mile loop, and the pace is generally between 8:00 - 8:30 min/miles. The group meets on the northeast corner of 40th and Telegraph Ave.
Witter Wednesday Track: we also meet for mid-week speed and strength workouts at 6:15am on Wednesday mornings, at the Piedmont High School track).
TGIF Lake Loops: one of the longest standing Oakland Track Club staples, on Friday mornings at 6:15am we meet for some easy loops around the lake (usually 3 - 6 miles). We meet at the Lake Merritt Amphitheater (see above).
Sunday Long Run: we coordinate on a week-to-week basis to meet up for Sunday morning long runs. These are often runs that take us into the beautiful local trails.
